Dear Parents
Welcome back after a well-deserved break. We believe you all had a Blessed Easter with your family and friends. We look forward to a busy second term.
- OPEN – EVENING – GR 1 2018
There will be a very important meeting for all our Gr R parents. Tuesday 25 APRIL 2017 AT 19:00 – 20:00 (from 18:00 till 19:00 the Afrikaans meeting will take place) in Laerskool Edleen’s hall. This is a very important meeting and we ask that you all attend this meeting. This meeting will be about your toddler/s that will be going to GR 1 next year. Important information regarding enrolment for 2018 will be given to you. You probably know that enrolments are not as easy as a few years ago; everything must be done online. At this meeting, you will hear more about the online enrolments, which opens on Tuesday, 2 May 2017.
- CHRISTMAS PLAY NOVEMBER 2017 (ONLY GR R TODDLERS)
We want to remind you of the R200.00 per participant for the Christmas Play, payable in cash at the PPS office. If you have already paid at Laerskool Edleen’s financial office, we ask that you’ll bring a copy of the receipt. Thank you for your cooperation in this regard.
- KEMPTON PARK EISTEDDFOD
If you want your toddler to participate in the Eisteddfod, you must please get an entry form with the poem as soon possible from their teacher. The entry fee is R50-00 per item. The closing date is 3 May 2017. NO late entries will be accepted.
- FINANCES
We ask that you will pay the school fees promptly before the third of each month. School fees for January, February, March and April, as well as the stationery fee should have been paid. If you haven’t paid this yet, we ask you to do so as soon as possible. Thank you to the parents that pay their school fees regularly and promptly.
- LOST CLOTHES
It is sad to see the amount of clothes that is left behind in the Miernes every day. Please check your toddler’s bag daily to ensure that they have taken all their clothes and shoes. Winter is approaching soon and it is cool in the mornings, but warmer during the day. Please make sure that your toddler’s jackets/jerseys are clearly marked and in their bags when you fetch them. Lost clothes will be donated to charity on a monthly basis.
- SPUR EVENING -25 April Cancelled
Please note that the Spur evening that would have taken place on 25 April, had to be cancelled due to a very important meeting for all the Grade R parents, concerning the Grade 1 Registrations for 2018.
- PIZZA EVENING
Thursday, 18 May 2017 we will have a Pizza evening at Panarotti’s Festival Mall. Please come and join us from 17:00 – 21:00. All the toddlers can wear their green Edlenertjie golf shirts. Further information will be provided later.
- MINDCUBE WORKSHOP
Give your child a headstart with maths in a fun way. Book your space at our workshop. R250 per family, includes your own set of MindCube Qaudro Cards.

- INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS
The final photo order has been sent to the photographer today. Photo’s ordered, as indicated in your child’s communication book is payable immediately. There are still money outstanding. NO Photo will be send home before we receive payment.
- SENOR CHEF
The stock has come …. Stock will be checked and each order must be packed. We believe everything will be ready on Monday. A general SMS will be sent out as soon as it is ready. Thank you for your patience.
- SCHOOL HOURS
Parents it is VERY important that your child will eat breakfast at home. A fed child is a happy child!
- Gates open 7:00 in the morning
Gr R – toddlers:
- Please make sure your child is at school before 7:30
- and collected after 12:30.
Rest of the children:
- Please make sure your child is at school by 8:00
- and collected after 12:30.
Toddlers are not allowed to climb/swing on the entrance gate please!!!!
